Brixham Mural tours originated from an idea that started with our first visit to the Town of Brixham in 2017.

Urban Gypset (Sketch and Amanda) were commissioned to paint two murals in the town to help to brighten up the High Street. After a positive response, several more Businesses and individuals contacted Sketch and Amanda; to offer further opportunities to work on creating images of local boats, artistic work and historical images. It became their mission to create numerous images that highlight various aspects of the town and its rich history. The seed of an idea of a bespoke Urban Gypset based Tour was germinated, to allow local people and tourists to rediscover the Town and find new ways to enjoy the area. The duo invested considerable time, money and paint to create more murals for those that supported them along the way. We also acknowledge a number of excellent Murals and paintings undertaken by other Artists during this period, that have made Brixham an exciting place to visit for Street Art.

Fast forward to 2025. There are now 16 Urban Gypset Murals created uniquely by Sketch and Amanda across town with plans for another 10 to be in place by the end of 2026; in the Town and increasingly in surrounding Areas.

So what has turned the seed of an idea into a relality?

A chance meeting with a locally based Business Marketing and Development expert (Ian) in the Spring of 2025 has bought the Brixham Mural Tour to fruition.

A new Partnership (Brixham Mural Tours) has been created by Sketch + Ian and our joint aim is to combine a Tour of the outstanding bespoke Artwork of Sketch and Amanda (Urban Gypset); with a vision and commitment to use it to increase awareness of the Town its’ history , its increased vibrancy and an overriding aim to bring increased Tourism and vitally important growing foot-fall in to all parts of the Town for the benefit of all of the wonderful hardworking people who Trade here in retail, entertainment and hospitality sectors.

All of our Urban Gypset Murals will have bespoke plaques, enhancing their stories and will form the a formal fully Guided walking Mural tour of the Town and the UK’s first purpose built bespoke Artist (Urban Gypset) Mural tour.
